This is where the producers and directors of a film visit a location to ensure that it's suitable for shooting the proposed video. They must take into account the noise levels, lighting, access issues and possible risks.
Location 1:
Name: Municiple Cemetery, Barnard Castle
Description: Large, sprawling cemetry in the very centre of Barnard Castle. It has graves ranging from the seventeen hundreds right through to 2013.
Coordinates of graveyard: +54° 32' 40.52",
-1° 55' 6.18"

Access Issues:
This site has two possible accesses, one of which is a dirt track, the other is a dark alleyway leading from the William Smith sign manufacturers. Both of these are somewhat risky for their own reasons. Firstly the dirt track, walking down here is quite tricky when it's wet or icy, it's muddy and covered in potholes which means it's very easy to trip or twist your ankle. You can get a car so far down, however it would probably have to be a four-by-four otherwise it may become difficult to get it back out again.
The second access is wide enough to people to walk two abreast, so it isn't possible to take a vehicle down there. Although it is solid pavement, it's strewn with rubbish and broken glass. On a night it's known to be quite dangerous as well due to groups of youths congregating in it. As a result, I wouldn't want to take anybody down in case they cut their feet on the glass, or we had problems with youths.
Lighting issues:Thankfully the lighting isn't too bad on this site, there is a fair amount
of tree cover (as you can see from the image to the right), however it isn't enough to cause problems with lighting. Providing I was to shoot my video before it got completely dark, I shouldn't need any more lighting.
Sound:
Although there are external sounds from housing and the scouts hut next to the site, this isn't a problem as it can be edited out in Final Cut Express.
